How tuition works

We give you the figures in writing at the placement visit. Here is what sets them, and how everything else works.

  • What sets tuition

Three things set tuition: the length of the lesson, whether it is private or a class, and whether you take a lesson, sing in a choir or do both. Your teacher will suggest the right mix.

    • Lesson length: 30, 45 or 60 minutes

    • Voice lessons, the singing class or a choir

    • Weekly, a term at a time

  • Registration

A yearly registration covers your student file, the placement visit and scheduling. It is due when you hold a weekly time, and the front desk gives you the figure in writing.

  • Holding a place

A weekly lesson time is held from your first month. A full choir or class keeps a waitlist, and we offer a place by phone or email, in the order families asked.

  • Billing

Tuition is billed monthly or a term at a time, by card or bank transfer, with automatic payment if you choose it. Choirs run by the term.

  • Help with tuition

Financial aid is available. Ask us how to apply when you book your placement visit, and we will talk it through in private.

  • Withdrawing

We ask for a month's notice before a student's last lesson, in writing or by email, so we can offer the time to the waitlist. A term in progress is settled with the front desk.

  • Missed classes and make-ups

A lesson you cancel with a day's notice is made up with your teacher. A lesson a teacher cancels is always made up. Choir rehearsals and the singing class are not made up.

  • Uniforms, costumes and other costs

Song folders, concert dress and any music your teacher chooses are extra. We tell you what each one is, and how it is billed, at the placement visit.
